An exceptional sterling silver Victorian Scottish pebble brooch. The round brooch with scalloped edges set with flush blue grey agate in clover and geometric shapes. Foliate hand engraving between the agates. The back plain. Diameter: 52.18mm. Depth: 9.83mm. In excellent condition. Scottish pebble jewellery became fashionable when Queen Victoria bought Balmoral castle in 1848. The beautiful blue grey agates came from the town of Montrose in Scotland.
